Delicious chocolate mousse that is easy to prepare and gluten free


Chocolate Mousse (6 servings)
Chocolate Mousse Ingredients:
  • 225g / 8oz plain chocolate, broken into squares
  • 4 eggs separated
  • 30 ml / 2 tbsp brandy or orange liqueur
  • 90 ml / 6 tbsp double cream

Chocolate Mousse

1. Line a shallow 20 cm / 8 in round cake thin with clear film.  Melt the chocolate in a bowl over a pan of simmering water, then remove the bowl from the heat.

2. Beat the egg yolks and brandy into the chocolate, then fold in the cream, mixing well.  In a separate clean bowl, whisk the egg whites until stiff, then gently fold them into chocolate mixture.

3. Pour the mixture into the prepared tin and level the surface.  Chill for several hours until set.  To serve, turn the mousse into slices or wedges.  Serve the chocolate mouse on serving plates
