Delicious stir-fry beef that is easy to prepare and gluten free


This stir-fry beef with broccoli is quick and easy to prepare with Oriental appeal.

Stir-fry Beef with Broccoli (4 servings)
Stir-fry Beef with Broccoli Ingredients
  • 10 ml / 2 tsp gluten free cornflour
  • 45 ml / 3 tbsp gluten free soy sauce
  • 45 ml / 3 tbsp ruby port
  • 15 ml / 1 tbsp sunflower oil
  • 350g / 12 oz lean beef steak, cut into thin strips
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed
  • 2.5 cum / 1 inch piece of fresh root ginger, peel and finely chopped
  • 1 red pepper, seeded and sliced
  • 225g / 8 oz small broccoli florets
  • salt and ground black pepper
  • fresh parsley sprigs, to garnish
  • herby brown rice or rice noodles to serve.

Stir-fry Beef and Broccoli

1. Blend the corn flour with the soy sauce and port in a small bowl

2. Heat the oil in a large frying pan or wok, add the beef, garlic and ginger and stir-fry over medium heat for 2 - 3 minutes until thee beef is browned all over.  Add the red pepper and broccoli; stir fry for 4-5 minutes until the vegetables are just tender.

3. Add the corn flour mixture and salt and pepper to the pan, then cook, stirring all the time until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy.  Lower the heat and stir-fry for a further 1 minute.  Serve at once, garnished with parsley sprigs and accompanied by herby brown rice or rice noodles.
